Cadillac will build a new base in North Carolina

      General Motors continues to prepare for its Formula 1 debut with the Cadillac factory team. Next Thursday, February 13, the mayor's office of the city of Concord, located in North Carolina, will consider the documents submitted by Cadillac for the construction of a new base. According to the documentation, Cadillac plans to build a production building worth $ 65-70 million and invest a similar amount in equipment. Thus, investments in the construction and arrangement of the base will approach 150 million dollars. At the new base they plan to develop and produce power units for the Formula 1 team. In 2026, the team will start with Ferrari engines, but in 2028 plans to switch to its own engines. The North Carolina base will employ 300-350 people and will work alongside the new base opened by Andretti Global at Silverstone before the project was taken over by General Motors. Development of the car for the 2026 season is already underway in the UK.
