Mick Schumacher: I'm as good as anyone in Formula 1

Mick Schumacher continues his career in the World Endurance Championship with the Alpine factory team, but has not given up hope of one day returning to Formula 1 and proving he can do more. Mick Schumacher: "Formula 1 will always be a part of my life. When I was eleven years old, I decided that I wanted to compete in this series. My goal has not changed - Formula 1 was and remains a dream of my life, I want to come back and prove myself. When I look at the current lineup of pilots, I have no doubt that I can withstand the competition with them. I'm just as good. It would be great if I had another chance to prove it. I think that people have the wrong opinion of me. My reputation has been defined by negative public comments about me, not by my strong qualities. I have the image of a defeated racer. It is true that I had crashes, but you have to take into account that our car was very fragile. From the slightest touch it broke, while for the cars of other teams such impacts did not cause harm. At the time I did not talk about it, because I did not want to provoke more disagreements with the team. I was confused and did not defend myself because I was shy. But at the end of the day, you need confidence and support to succeed. I would defend myself more strongly now. I have matured and no longer say that "everything is fine" but more uncompromisingly defend my point of view. I had to go through the process of growing up to become the person I am today."
