Ocon significantly pleased following his transition from Alpine to Haas.
Esteban Ocon acknowledges that moving from Alpine to Haas has been a refreshing change. The French driver's strained relationship with Alpine, previously known as Renault, came to an abrupt end even before the season finale in Abu Dhabi last year, when his replacement, Jack Doohan, took over his seat. Even his teammate, Pierre Gasly, who is not particularly close to Ocon, acknowledged the harshness of the situation. "We didn’t really get the chance to say goodbye," he stated on Tuesday.
Nonetheless, Ocon asserts that he feels settled in at his new team, Haas. "There are quite a few different aspects, but many positive ones," the 28-year-old shared with L’Equipe. "I was able to feel very comfortable right from the start.
"Everyone is all ears when I speak. This indicates that the team genuinely wants to put me in a favorable position and work on improvements. All the requests I made have been addressed." Ocon suggested that being listened to is something he hasn't experienced recently.
"We conducted a complete redesign of the steering wheel, and it arrived in perfect condition, just as I wanted," he revealed. "These are not things I’m accustomed to. It would have taken eight or ten months in my previous team. Here, it took just a month and a half."
However, Ocon preferred not to dwell on the negative aspects of his five-year stint at Enstone. "I have moved on from the Alpine chapter," he remarked. "I wish them all the best for the future. It's a team that will always hold a significant place in my heart."
