F3: Nikola Tsolov led the protocol of the second day of tests
Formula 3 pre-season tests are continuing in Barcelona, Spain. On the second day, Nikola Tsolov led the protocol – the Campos Racing driver was the fastest in both the morning and afternoon sessions.
The teams started the day with a series of fast laps with empty tanks. Tuuka Taponen was the first to set the benchmark for the rest – 1:28.879 seconds. The riders gradually increased, and in addition to Taponen, Noah Stromsted, Laurence van Hoepen and Taponen again managed to get on the first line. However, then Tsolov drove his fastest lap – 1:26.618 seconds, and this result turned out to be the best.
Forty minutes before the end of the session, red flags appeared on the track. The reason was Nicola Lacorte, who stopped at the exit of the eighth turn. The pause lasted five minutes, after which the riders were able to finalize the morning session.
The afternoon session started after a two-hour lunch break. This time, the drivers worked on a long series of laps. There were no red flags, and the Bulgarian Campos Racing driver showed the best time again – 1:27.249 seconds.
The final day of Formula 3 pre-season testing will be held in Barcelona on Friday.
