Hamilton: Every day at Ferrari is like a holiday

Lewis Hamilton, in an interview with CNN, shared his main impressions from his first weeks at Ferrari, stressing that teamwork is now "the number one priority."

Lewis Hamilton: "Naturally, when I was just making the decision to join Ferrari, I knew that this would be big news. Although I probably didn't realize how loud it was... it's important to me that I can show my best, and I have to do it with all the confidence.

Now, for me, every day in this team is like a holiday. Although, to be honest, I'm not thinking about climbing to the top of the podium in a red Ferrari jumpsuit yet. I still have a lot to learn, because this team has a completely different culture, and the car here is completely different from the ones I've driven before.

Everything is different here – the engine, the controls, the terminology that engineers use when it comes to settings. I'm starting with a clean white sheet, but I'll try to add some of my own colors to the already wonderful palette that distinguishes this team and the entire Ferrari company.

I try to embrace their culture, I try to learn Italian, and at the same time I want to look as dignified as possible..." When Hamilton was asked if, after becoming a Ferrari driver, he would still be able to pursue his other projects unrelated to motorsport, the seven-time world champion replied:

"Now I fully intend to, focus 100% on your work. I have already established a great relationship with Frederick Wasser and the whole team. They understand and accept the fact that I am different, that I have my own interests, but at the same time I have no illusions: right now the number one priority is to give all my strength only to work at the Scuderia. That's it."
