Alpine F1's difficulties may continue in 2025.
The Alpine team presented their 2025 car during the recent London F1 75 Live show, and it looked quite attractive in the new coloring version. However, the Italian magazine Autosprint writes that in fact, the car is based on the same A524 chassis from last year, which, as we remember, was not very efficient.
And it's not just that the Renault factory team is in no hurry to show a new car – Alpine has simply decided not to spend money on any radical alterations ahead of the transition of Formula 1 to a new generation of technology.
There is no official confirmation of this version yet, but it is likely that the team really decided to throw all its resources into preparing for 2026, when Alpine, abandoning Renault engines, will switch to Mercedes power plants. If the Autosprint information is true, then the difficulties for the Enstone team will continue this season.
Some changes have been made to the chassis design in any case, but probably the improvements are not particularly significant. Those who carefully examined the Alpine car during the general presentation in London noticed that it had an A525-05 sticker on it, which suggests that the team had previously dealt with the first four versions of this chassis.
It can be assumed that the team management will share more detailed information at the pre-season tests, which will start next week. According to Alpine's plans, the 2025 car will be presented on February 24 in Bahrain during the initial run-in: tomorrow Pierre Gasly and Jack Duane, the team's drivers, will have the opportunity to drive 200 km together.
