A fan festival will be held in Melbourne
The organizers of the Australian Grand Prix have announced a fan festival during the race weekend.
Tickets for the Australian Grand Prix sold out in less than an hour, and the organizers decided to give fans a chance to see Formula 1 outside Albert Park.
The five-day festival will take place at Melbourne Park Oval behind Rod Laver Arena on the southeastern edge of the city. It will start on Wednesday, March 12 and end on Sunday, after the finish of the race. Admission to all events is free.
Racers will come to the festival, answering questions from the audience on stage, autograph sessions, performances by artists and other events are planned.
Travis Auld, CEO of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation: "I am pleased to announce that this year we are expanding the boundaries of the Grand Prix to the whole of Melbourne.
Formula 1 Race Week is a true celebration for everyone in Melbourne, and this festival will be a continuation of the incredible offerings already available at Albert Park."
