      Oliver Berman worked his first shift in the tests leading up to his first full season as a Haas F1 core driver, after which he shared his impressions on Sky Sports.

      Oliver Berman: "I am very glad that now I have my own garage and my own car! It's great that the tests have started, and something is starting to happen. I had a great winter off-season, mostly with friends and family, although, of course, it dragged on for too long. I think I'll need a long winter vacation towards the end of the year, but right now I'm just looking forward to this season.

      I was very intensely engaged in physical training, paying special attention to cardio training, as well as, of course, psychological training. But now there are more things to do, and I didn't even expect my schedule to be so busy. I'll have to be organized and collected, and these are not my strongest qualities! In general, a lot has changed for me, but I'm starting to get used to it.

      Starting in the morning, I gradually picked up speed, we mainly worked on the race pace, drove a lot of laps and fully completed the planned program. It was necessary to check a number of settings and compare the behavior of the VF-25 with last year's car. The task can be formulated as follows: it is necessary to create a kind of catalog of settings that suit the machine and what it does not like.

      It's very good that we didn't have any difficulties, so it's safe to say that we got off to a successful start. Although the weather here is kind of strange right now: I was expecting the sun to shine, but so far I don't see anything like that. As often happens in Bahrain, there is a strong wind blowing, its gusts are very strong, and the riders do not really like this, but it allows them to collect information about the behavior of the car in such conditions.

      I'll continue working on the track tomorrow afternoon when it gets even colder, but I'll still be happy to get back behind the wheel!"
