Liam Lawson: RB21 looks good so far

On Tuesday in Bahrain, the Red Bull Racing team conducted an initial run-in of the new RB21 as part of a shooting day. After the races, Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson shared their first impressions of the car.

Max Verstappen: "I'm happy to be back on the track in Bahrain as part of the filming day that precedes the tests. It was great to pilot the RB21 for the first time. I've only done a few laps, but today the task was to feel comfortable in the car, and we'll figure it out in more detail in the next few days.

We know what our limitations were last year, so it's important to assess the pace in the coming days and see if we were able to improve. We won't have much time after the tests before the first race, so we hope to drive a longer distance and see how we can improve the time.

I'm not setting any goals at the moment because we don't know how competitive we are yet, but I'm looking forward to getting back into racing and especially the Spa and Sandfort stages at my favorite tracks."

Liam Lawson: "First impressions are always important. Today I was getting behind the wheel with excitement. This is my first full season in Formula 1, and the preparation and filming days are helping me a lot.

We're just learning about the new car, so far the RB21 looks good, we'll see how the tests go, but most of all I'm looking forward to the opportunity to race and continue my training.

This is not a new team for me, I know many people and I am glad to work with such talented people. My goal is to be fast and achieve the results that the team needs. The team is focused on regaining the Constructors' Championship, and if we can achieve that, then I've done my job. In general, we have one goal – to get ahead of everyone."

Christian Horner, team principal: "It's great to be back in Bahrain and have a day of filming, although if you look at the weather, the wind makes you think we're still at Silverstone.

It's always exciting to see a new car on the track for the first time. We've checked all the systems before tomorrow, when the RB21 will hit the track with the rivals."
