FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem has condemned online bullies driving quadruple world champion Alain Prost off social media entirely. Recently, Prost voiced his frustration over the portrayal of his infamous rivalry with Ayrton Senna in the new Netflix series 'Senna.'

Prost indicated to Canal Plus that Netflix depicts him as the "villain" who is "arrogant," mentioning several scenes and events that are "completely fictional." Consequently, he has received a flood of "hate messages" online.

"Some of the reactions are so intense that I am seriously thinking about shutting down my Instagram account," stated the 70-year-old.

Under Ben Sulayem's leadership, the FIA is actively working to eradicate this form of online harassment. The FIA president remarked on his own Instagram account: "His (Prost’s) situation underscores the harsh realities that athletes at all levels endure—daily abuse, harassment, and even threats."

Ben Sulayem further noted that his anti-abuse initiative "is developing the necessary educational, technological, and regulatory measures to safeguard competitors, officials, and fans, ensuring that sports remain a domain of robust yet fair and inclusive competition."
