Wasser: The street track in Albert Park is unique

Ferrari team principal Frederic Wasser is optimistic about the start of the season…

Frederic Wasser: "It's great that the wait is over and the first race of the season awaits us this week. It's like we're going back in time – it's been a few years since the last time the Formula 1 season started in Australia.

The Albert Park street circuit is unique, it cannot be considered a benchmark for assessing what awaits us during the season, but last year we performed well in Melbourne. There are still a lot of unknowns, but we really want to assess the balance of power, especially since the test results in Bahrain are difficult to analyze.

All of us, including the drivers, worked hard at the Maranello base during the winter. Charles worked out in the gym, and Lewis tried to adapt to the team as quickly as possible. I think we have everything we need to be successful right now.

This week, as always, we will focus on ourselves, realizing that this is just the beginning of a very long season. A week ago in Milan we were greeted by a huge crowd of Tifosi, and now we will try in Melbourne to give the fans another reason to be proud of us."
