
Liberty Media extended the contract with Domenicali until 2029.
Stefano Domenicali took over Formula 1 in 2021, taking over the posts of president and CEO of the championship, and on the eve of the new season, Liberty Media extended his contract with him until 2029 inclusive.
Domenicali plays a key role in the development of the Formula 1 business and the global growth of its popularity, so the decision to continue cooperation with the former head of the Ferrari team is an absolutely logical step.
"We are very pleased to extend the contract with Stefano, who will remain in his post for the coming years and will continue to work alongside the talented people working in Formula 1 management," Liberty Media said in a statement. "Stefano has led this business admirably, strengthening its successful foundation and contributing to accelerating growth both in the commercial field. so it is in terms of more active fan engagement."
According to 59-year–old Domenicali, it is a great honor for him to remain in these positions: "Together with all the major shareholders of Formula 1, we will continue to serve the interests of the fans, because they are at the heart of everything we do. It is a great honor for me to continue leading this wonderful sport, which I love and which has occupied most of my life since childhood, and I am grateful to Liberty Media for their trust."
