Dwane: The car handled well in both training sessions.
Alpine was cautiously optimistic about the results of Friday's Australian Grand Prix practice sessions. Jack Duane and Pierre Gasly are happy with the car and expect to perform well in qualifying.
Jack Duane (14th): "The first laps in front of my fans were amazing. I felt a lot of pleasant emotions that will stay with me throughout the weekend.
We learned a lot in two training sessions today, trying out a lot of solutions to find the right balance and make sure we're in good shape tomorrow. The car handled well in both sessions and we did our best on the track.
The team will hold a briefing where we will discuss plans for the first training session in order to be in good shape for qualifying."
Pierre Gasly (15th): "The first Friday practice sessions of the season are over, so it's great to be back at the wheel in Melbourne. There were a lot of events on the track today, so it wasn't easy to drive a clean lap and avoid traffic. We tried out many solutions in the first and second sessions.
The weather conditions were very different from those we had to deal with during the pre-season tests in Bahrain. We have a lot to analyze in order to choose the right settings for the remaining days of the weekend.
Judging by the forecast, there is still a chance of rain, which will make the fight on the track more interesting. We will try to put everything together before the first qualifying of the season."
