Sainz: I've been having trouble balancing my car all day.

Of the Williams drivers, only Alex Albon made it to the sprint qualifying final, while Carlos Sainz scored 13th, after which he admitted that he had not yet fully adapted to the FW47 car.

Alex Albon (9th): "I'm happy with the result, but I think the car still needs some work. So far, this track is not very suitable for us, so a number of changes will have to be made to the settings.

Figuring out how to work with rubber is not easy, because it quickly loses its effectiveness. In long turns, such as on the Chinese highway, the tires work with increased load, and it is difficult to bring them to optimal temperatures. In addition, it seems that the rubber has to be protected, and at the same time you can easily overdo it.

In general, we have a lot to work on tonight to prepare as well as possible for tomorrow."

Carlos Sainz (13th): "I've been having problems with the balance of the car all day, and both of today's sessions were difficult. We had a number of difficulties during qualifying, including, oddly enough, I was uncomfortable in the seats, and this has yet to be sorted out.

In general, I must admit that I have not yet fully got used to driving this car. I still have to understand many of its features, but I know that everything will return to normal when I ride it for more kilometers.

Hopefully, tomorrow we will be able to put everything together, achieve better results and prepare for the main events of the weekend."
