Yuki Tsunoda is ready to replace Lawson at Suzuka
Liam Lawson failed the first stage of the season in Melbourne, and he is unable to fix the situation at the Chinese Grand Prix – in Saturday's sprint, the Red Bull Racing driver finished fourteenth, and showed the last time in qualifying.
Against this background, speculation is growing that Liam will soon lose his place in the team, and Yuki Tsunoda will become Max Verstappen's new team-mate.
After qualifying, journalists asked the Japanese driver if he was ready to get behind the wheel of the Red Bull RB21 at the home stage in Suzuka in two weeks. Yuki replied with great enthusiasm, "In Japan? Yes, 100%, the car is faster." After these words, the Racing Bulls press officer took Tsunoda away from the journalists so that the racer would not develop a sensitive topic.
However, Red Bull's motorsport consultant Helmut Marko refrained from criticizing Lawson after qualifying on Servus TV: "He says he didn't have time to warm up the tires. Let's see, now we need to analyze everything carefully."
