Alpine is the only team without points after two races.

The race in China turned out to be unsuccessful for Alpine – after two stages of the season, the team remains the only one with no points earned. Pierre Gasly finished eleventh, but was disqualified for not meeting the technical regulations.

His teammate Jack Duane finished fourteenth, but for pushing Isaac Hajjar off the track, he received two penalty points and an increase of ten seconds to the result, after which he dropped to sixteenth place. However, after the disqualification of his teammate and the Ferrari drivers, Duane rose to the thirteenth place in the final protocol.

Jack Duane (16th, 13th after the disqualification of Charles Leclair, Lewis Hamilton and Pierre Gasly): "I'm happy because I did 56 more laps, which is something I didn't do in Australia. I can definitely say that. It was a difficult race, as they say, I had to spread my elbows as wide as possible in order not to miss Isaac Hajjar, so I showed a good result on the track, considering the position from which we started.

We managed to hold off the Racing Bulls car for over twenty laps, even though they were much faster than us all weekend. I think we can be proud of that, and as for the fine I received, I'm going to analyze everything.

In any case, I don't intend to just give up positions to my rivals. Although it doesn't really matter where I end up outside of the top ten, because I won't get any points anyway. In general, I will analyze my actions once again and prepare for the stage in Japan.

I can say that I have the pace, and in this regard we are about on the same level as Pierre. Although, depending on the session, our results could differ by one or two tenths in one direction or another. In general, it is absolutely certain that I have managed to add.

When we were both driving on the freeway today, our pace was quite comparable, and we took a step forward in this regard."

Pierre Gasly (11th, disqualified): "Thanks to another good start, I participated in the fight for places in the top ten. Unfortunately, like last week, I finished eleventh.

Overall, it turned out to be a difficult weekend, but it's good that we managed to regain positions in the race. With such a density in the middle of the peloton, the result depended on the little things, and we didn't do everything we could this weekend. Together with the team, we will regroup and come back stronger at the next stage in Japan.

This weekend we had a particularly hard time on the fastest lap. The team and I will explore what was good in Melbourne and what went wrong in China, and we will try to perform better in the next stage."
