Sofia Fleursch retires from Indy NXT after the first race

Sofia Flersh's overseas career was interrupted as soon as it began. In 2025, the 24-year-old German woman, following last year's example of Jamie Chadwick, made her debut in the American Indy NXT youth series and took 12th place among the 21 participants of the first race of the season in St. Petersburg.

She played for the HMD Motorsports team, but, according to the Racer publication, the parties were forced to cease cooperation due to disagreements with the main sponsor, who provided financial support to Fleurs.

"HMD Motorsports and Sofia Fleursch have decided by mutual agreement to part ways," the team said in a statement. – The parties came to this decision by mutual agreement, and the team wishes Sofia every success in her future endeavors.

HMD Motorsports is currently actively exploring possible options and is looking for a driver who will drive the No. 24 car for the remaining 13 races and will work on the upcoming tests."
