Michael Schumacher's Ferrari F2001 up for auction

RM Sotheby's auction house has put up for auction a Ferrari F2001, driven by Michael Schumacher, who won two Grand Prix in the 2001 season.

Chassis 211 is on display at the auction, which will be held in Monaco at the end of May during the Formula 1 race weekend. Behind the wheel of this particular car, the German racer won the Monaco Grand Prix (the last victory on this city circuit in Schumacher's career) and the Hungarian Grand Prix, following which Michael secured his fourth World championship title.

In 2017, the 211 chassis was already put up for auction. At that time, an unnamed buyer paid a record $7.5 million for the Ferrari F2001, which was surpassed in 2022 by a collector who paid $13.2 million for Schumacher's Ferrari F2003-GA. It is possible that at the auction in Monaco, the F2001 will regain its leadership in the ranking of the most expensive Formula 1 cars.
