Fernando Alonso (13th): "Yesterday we were competitive, but today the wind changed and we lost speed. I'm happy with my fast laps, but in the first session I was only 14th, in the second I was 13th, so that's our pace. We need to improve the characteristics of the car in order to achieve more. Tomorrow we will try to compete for points."
Lance Stroll (20th): "Qualifying was difficult. Due to the red flags in the second and third practice sessions, I was unable to work with the Soft tires and gather the necessary information, and in qualifying, due to a strong gust of wind, the car lost its balance and I crashed out in turn six. During the session, we thought about adjusting the settings, but Fernando decided not to make any changes. It was the right decision, he played a couple of tenths in the last attempt.
Lance's fast lap was interrupted when, due to a strong tailwind, he drove outside Turn six. The wind gust was 12 km/h stronger than during the last race, and this pushed him into the gravel. We knew the wind would be a problem, he was just unlucky. Tomorrow there is a chance to win back, especially if it rains."
