Chadwick became the first woman to succeed at ELMS

At the end of the year, we talked about Hyundai Motor Company's factory endurance racing program: in 2026, the Genesis Magma Racing team will make its WEC debut in the Hypercar category.

The development of future GMR-001 sports prototypes is already in full swing, but for now the new team is gaining experience in related motorsport disciplines. Last weekend, Genesis joined forces with the French IDEC Sport team to make its debut in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS).

Yesterday, the crew of car No. 18, consisting of series debutants Daniel Junkadella, Mathis Jaubert and Jamie Chadwick, won the LMP2 category at the 4 Hours of Barcelona. In the absolute classification, Jamie and her teammates were second, behind the AF Corse trio, but this does not detract from their achievements.

In qualifying, the IDEC crew showed the 5th time, and in yesterday's race Jamie was entrusted to lead the start and drive the first leg of the race. By the first pit stop, Chadwick had moved up to 3rd position, after which Jamie replaced Hunkadell, and 80 minutes before the finish, 18-year-old Mathis Jobert took the wheel.

50 minutes before the finish, he reached the 1st position, but shortly before the end of the race, the appearance of a safety car on the track helped the AF Corse crew (LMP2 Pro/Am class) to seize the lead. But the IDEC team remained the best in its category.

"We won on the day of our ELMS debut! – Jamie happily shared on her social media pages. – I still have a lot to learn, because it's not so easy to overcome the traffic during endurance races, but thanks to the efforts of the whole team, we have achieved success.

The tactics were chosen correctly, and my teammates showed excellent speed! We've had a great start to the season, and I'm ready to keep working to achieve new successes."
