Trump's tariff policy will not affect the Haas team

Last week, US President Donald Trump imposed increased tariffs on imported goods from most countries of the world. Haas Automation, which owns the Formula 1 team of the same name, said the new duties had already affected its core CNC machine manufacturing business.

The company has reduced production and canceled overtime at a manufacturing facility in North Carolina, as well as suspended recruitment. However, the work of the Haas team, whose bases are located in the UK and Italy, was not affected by Trump's protectionist economic policy.

"The team continues to operate as usual. There are no changes in the development process, recruitment or other projects," the official representative of Haas F1 assured.

However, the increased import duties will have a direct impact on American motorsport, primarily IndyCar and NASCAR. Many components of the machines, such as chassis, brakes, wheels, and engines, are supplied to the United States from the European Union and Japan, and their cost will increase.

The situation is partly mitigated by the fact that teams usually purchase all the necessary equipment and machine parts from October to February, and their needs are largely covered for the 2025 season.
