In Bahrain, the parties will discuss a new agreement agreement
The commercial part of the new agreement for 2026-2030 was signed a month ago. The President of the federation, Mohammed bin Sulayem, will come to Bahrain to coordinate the second part, which deals with the role of the FIA – entrance fees, super license fees and voting procedures.
The Bahrain Grand Prix will be the first stage of this year with Sulayem's personal presence – he used to observe the holy month of Ramadan, and now he will join the discussion. It is rumored that the unexpectedly rapid signing of the commercial part of the agreement between the teams and Formula 1 surprised the FIA, which was confident that the teams would fight for their interests for longer, and expected the signing sooner in the summer than in early spring.
As a result, when the signatures on the key issues are delivered, Sulayem does not have time to discuss the financial conditions of the FIA, in particular, the increase in payments for race maintenance with the calendar increased to 24 Grands Prix. Now everyone is waiting with some irritation for the FIA's signature, the solution to this issue may become another round of confrontation between the teams and the owners of the championship with the leadership of the FIA.
