Kimi Antonelli: I'm happy with how things are going.
Kimi Antonelli is confidently starting his debut season in Formula 1, having earned 30 points. The Mercedes racer expects to perform confidently on a familiar track in Bahrain.
Kimi Antonelli: "So far everything is going well. Most of all, I am satisfied with the stability in the past races. I try to improve every weekend, and I learn a lot every weekend, especially with the tires. I think it will help me a lot that we will have the same lineups in Bahrain as in Suzuka.
I'm getting better at understanding the tyres, but in the first Grands Prix I had trouble warming them up in qualifying. At Suzuka, I made a big step forward in this area. Of course, I still have a lot to learn, but I'm happy with how things are going.
George Russell is a good driver and really helps me progress. He pushes me forward, and I'm happy that my progress doesn't stop.
George has a lot of experience working with our car and in Formula 1 in general. He has confidence, he knows how to drive the car, how to position it at the entrance to the corner on a fast lap.
But at Suzuki, I made a really big step forward in terms of confidence and understanding of the car. I'm really looking forward to the start of the weekend in Bahrain, because I know this track. The conditions will be very different from those at the tests, as it will be much hotter, but I wonder what kind of result the team will achieve this weekend. It is important to maintain a positive trend and continue to work hard. Let's see what the result will be on Sunday."
