Piastri: I'm proud of how I worked this weekend.

In Bahrain, Oscar Piastri was out of reach of his rivals and won his second race of the season, and it was the 50th Grand Prix of his career.

The race of Lando Norris, his McLaren team-mate, was more chaotic, with mistakes and penalties, but he still managed to climb the podium.

Oscar Piastri (1st): "Great result, especially on this track! The weekend in Bahrain has been going great, starting with yesterday's qualifying, and I am very happy that we ended it with this victory. I don't have enough words to thank the team for the beautiful car: it was very comfortable to drive.

I am also very proud of how I worked this weekend, especially since it is a very important race for our team and its owners. This track has never been kind to us before, and today our team scored its first victory in Bahrain.

I would have preferred not to have a safety car, although I still felt completely confident in my abilities. We had a good pace, I had no doubt that I would be able to have a good restart, but I also realized that the Medium tires that Lando and I got were exactly the right tires for us.

After the restart, I had an understandable task in front of me: of course, I had to spend it well, and I was not going to miss my chance. I don't know yet how we will celebrate our success, but I have no doubt that the team will throw a great party! But I won't be able to participate in it, because I have to start again next weekend."

Lando Norris (3rd): "At the start, I didn't notice that the car was going forward so much, that's all. Of course, it was a difficult race. I made too many mistakes when overtaking, and I also positioned the car incorrectly at the start. In general, I was sloppy during the race, and it's a pity that we couldn't score a winning double for McLaren, although it would have been nice if it had happened in Bahrain.

In general, although it wasn't easy, there were also a lot of positive things. However, when I overtook Lewis Hamilton, I was told that I had to give up the position, but in that episode everything was on the verge, although the duel turned out to be interesting, I'm not complaining.

But good overtaking gave me pleasure, everyone defended pretty tough, on the edge of what was allowed, although it should be. George Russell also did a good job.: I thought I could beat him, because I thought he slowed down a bit at the end of the race.

Oscar did a great job too, so congratulations to him and the entire McLaren team. But next weekend I will try to rise to higher positions."
