Verstappen: A lot of people are talking about my future, except me

After the Bahrain Grand Prix, Red Bull motorsport consultant Helmut Marko expressed concern that Max Verstappen might leave the team at the end of the season. In Jeddah, the current world champion was asked to comment on Marko's words.

"To be honest, I do not know what to say about his words,– replied Verstappen. – I continue to work on improving the car. Obviously, the weekend in Bahrain was not the most successful for us, and we all felt disappointed. But we will continue to try to improve the car, and we have a few ideas that the team is going to test.

My weeks are spent trying to improve the situation. You should focus on commenting on the races, and I should focus on driving. I don't see the need to think about any other scenarios.

Many people are talking about my future, except for myself. As I said, I want to focus on the car and working with the people in the team. That's the only thing I'm thinking about right now, and I'm very relaxed.

I'm happy, even though I'm not happy with the car, but that's what you can say about everyone in the team. We all want to get better, and there's no secret about it, so we're trying to improve."

Speaking about the prospects of Red Bull Racing this weekend, Max said: "I hope we will perform a little better in Jeddah than in Bahrain. There are more fast turns, different tarmac, and I hope that we will be more competitive, and our form will be somewhere between the one we showed in Suzuka and Bahrain.

Our team has enough experience to focus on solving current problems, but not at the expense of preparing for 2026. We continue to test various solutions. I'm not just talking about new products, but also about working with settings. The team is constantly looking for ways to make the car better, and we will continue this work this weekend."
