Vettel held training sessions for local female racers in Jeddah.

Sebastian Vettel returned to the race track this week, even though it was just a cart track in Jeddah, where the four-time world champion held training sessions for local racers and took part in them himself.

Everything took place on April 15 and 16 under the motto of Race 4 Women – Challenge Me, i.e. literally translated, "Race for women – let's compete with me."

The training was attended by 20 representatives of Saudi motorsport between the ages of 14 and 24, and the approach was comprehensive: the program included physical training classes, theory studies, as well as lessons in proper communication with the press. Sebastian was assisted by professional racing drivers who work in Formula 1 with the Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin teams.

"I was offered this project when I was still driving for Aston Martin,– Vettel said. – Here in Saudi Arabia, we need to develop the most basic racing categories, and then in the future local racers will have the opportunity to compete in Europe.

It all started with karting in 2021, but now some of them are passionate about motorsport. This project has a social orientation, besides, its participants are beginning to believe in themselves, in their own strength, so it's worth doing.

The changes won't happen immediately, but I would like to see more strong female racers to succeed."

In Saudi Arabia, women were allowed to obtain a driver's license only in 2018, and now the Race 4 Women program is supported by the government of the kingdom, and one of its official partners is Pirelli.

"This program does not only involve sports, but its goal is to create female racers in the country who would become role models, so that the voice of the younger generation would be heard, and so that young people would have a real big dream!" added Sebastian.
