Peter Bayer: We are optimistic about the future.

In Jeddah, Racing Bulls Executive Director Peter Bayer spoke about the team's form in the first races of the season…

Q: Peter, how would you rate the first four races of the season for Racing Bulls?Peter Bayer: For me, the season started a little earlier, at the F1 75 event, where we won the prize for the best car coloring, for which we are very grateful to the fans.

Laurent Mekis and the team were able to get good speed out of the car, which we saw in Melbourne and in the following races. We've had ups and downs. We could have scored more points, but sometimes we took too many risks with our strategy.

At the same time, we are pleased with Isaac's progress – he had very little time to adapt to Formula 1, but he was able to unlock the car's potential. We are very pleased with how it is developing.

Liam's return to the team was a pleasant experience. We knew him well. I had breakfast with him on Friday – he's in a good mood, he's happy, he's motivated and he's looking forward to racing. Last week in Bahrain, he showed a good pace – in the first part of qualifying, he was close to Isaac's pace in the first and third sectors. We are optimistic about the future.

Q: Did the same Liam who left you at the end of last season come back to you, or did he lack confidence after returning?Peter Bayer: Confidence? No. It just took him a while to digest the situation. When he returned from Red Bull to our base in Italy, he looked a little sad, surprised that everything had happened so quickly. But he knew the people, the tools, the environment, and he quickly became the old Liam. He's a great racer, a man with a good sense of humor, and now we're seeing that again.

Question: There are only nine months left until the start of the winter tests in 2026. Given the information you have, what can the fans expect? Will the fight be tight? Will the season be interesting?Peter Bayer: There were a lot of fears and speculation about the last major regulation change, but in the end, the teams, Formula 1 and the FIA joined forces and made everything work. I think that's our responsibility to the fans. I'm looking forward to this event.
