Gasly: It was possible to qualify above ninth place

After qualifying for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, both Alpine riders were unhappy with their results. Pierre Gasly, who showed the ninth time, believes that the result could have been higher, and Jack Duane regrets that he did not qualify for the second part. However, both drivers expect to earn points on Sunday.

Pierre Gasly (9th): "Overall, it's positive that I managed to reach the final for the second qualifying in a row. Some things could have been done better today, but we'll draw conclusions next time. I'm sure it was possible to qualify above ninth place.

The team has done a great job and we have a good car at the moment. We are able to compete for points in the race, which will be our goal. The gaps in the peloton are minimal, but we need to run the race cleanly.

We know who our main opponent will be – Carlos Sainz, who starts several places higher. That's our goal, and I'm looking forward to Sunday night."

Jack Duane (17th): "It wasn't the result I wanted in qualifying, but overall, I'm happy with the progress we made after Friday's difficult practice sessions. We managed to make a good step forward between the third training session and qualifying.

Today, from the very first laps, I felt the car change for the better – I felt much more comfortable driving. But I'm not happy with the final qualifying result, because I was very close to reaching the second part.

I remain optimistic, because there are more opportunities for overtaking on this track than on others. We will try to gain an advantage through strategy. We strive to earn points."
