Duane: I couldn't complete the second fastest lap.
Jack Duane dropped out of the competition in the first part of qualifying and is unhappy with how everything went. His team-mate, Pierre Gasly, managed to break into the second session, but he could not rise above the 13th position.
Jack Duane (17th): "Everything was decided on the last lap, and it felt good. Unfortunately, at first I was blocked on the exit from the pit lane due to the fault of another driver of our team, due to our mistake, which is especially unpleasant, and then I could not complete the second fastest lap.
That's why they made the qualifying so long that you could do two laps – first set the base time and then improve the result. In the end, I ended up last and just didn't get a chance to make the second round. I could have gone much faster, but we'll never know."
Pierre Gasly (13th): "We had a lot of difficulties this morning, but we made good progress during qualifying, and I have no doubt that we will be able to fix a number of issues where we did not work well. But on the whole, our business is already going better than in the morning.
During the sprint weekend, when we only have one training session on Friday, there are always some problems - I really felt that everything was not working out for us. But I think we've made a step forward, and we just need to keep working.
It will not be easy to earn points in the sprint, although, of course, we will try. The most important thing is to try to get as much information as possible, which we use in our work to compete for points on Sunday."
