Loudon: We're not racing, but we're racing against time.

Graham Loudon, the head of the future Cadillac F1 team, which is scheduled to start the World Championship in 2026, told Sky Sports that they are going to start a test program even before the car is built.

According to him, it is important for the team that employees start practicing in advance in performing all the basic operations that make up the race weekend program.

Graham Loudon: "We're going to start testing with a single-seat race car this year because we want the mechanics to get busy. We can see what can happen in a real race, and every member of the team must be prepared to act correctly in any situation.

At a certain stage, we will start testing on any track to give our engineers the opportunity to work together, and to begin the process of integrating the riders and the team.…

Just a couple of weeks ago, our first 2026 chassis was delivered to the team's base – this is a prototype, but it is already fully ready, the upper safety arc is installed on it, and all this is already a very significant part of the Formula 1 car. We will use this prototype in various tests, of which there are a lot ahead, because in the process of transition to the new technical regulations, various kinds of checks become even more complex.…

There is a specific date for which the team must be ready, and we have monitors installed in each room at the base, which count down the time remaining until the first Grand Prix in 2026. I guess it reminds everyone that time usually speeds up when you have to get everything done by a certain date. In general, although we are not racing on a real track yet, we are already racing against time."

Of course, Loudon was asked about the future of the team, especially since Sergio Perez has already arrived in Miami, and there are persistent rumors that he is one of the main candidates for a place in Cadillac F1. But the head of the 11th championship team just preferred to laugh it off.: "I've learned a lot in recent months, including that literally everyone wants to drive for Cadillac, I can tell you that for sure!

Seriously, we have a pretty good idea of who we need, and at the moment the final stage of discussions on the candidates of the riders has already begun. Nevertheless, our priority now is to create something that the drivers will have to pilot."
