Red Bull Racing warned over Verstappen's actions

After qualifying for the Miami Grand Prix sprint, the stewards reviewed Max Verstappen's actions in the second session when he drove the segment between the first and second safety car lines six seconds slower than allowed by the race director's instructions.

During the hearing, the team explained to the stewards that Max was driving at a steady speed, adhering to the numbers that were displayed on the steering wheel, so he believed that he was driving at the permitted speed.

However, due to a mistake made when setting up the car, Verstappen saw the wrong numbers on the steering wheel, which led to a difference of six seconds between the allowed and actual driving time on the track. When the team realized the problem at the end of the lap, they immediately contacted Max and instructed him to accelerate.

The stewards admitted that although there was a violation of the rules in this case, Verstappen did not move unreasonably slowly along the track, did not interfere with other cars and did not create a dangerous situation. Therefore, the driver was not fined.

However, the team received a warning from the stewards for providing Max Verstappen with erroneous information.
