Alpine team principal Oliver Oakes has denied rumors that Franco Colapinto will replace Jack Duane at the next stage in Imola.
Asked at an FIA press conference in Miami what he thought of sponsor Colapinto's comments about Franco's chances of driving an Alpine in two weeks, Oakes said: "Jack is currently our driver on a par with Pierre Gasly. I think we've already made this clear enough before. Of course, we are constantly assessing what is happening, but today the situation is as I said.
Like everyone else, I have seen these statements. As far as I understand, the sponsor from Argentina expressed his opinion behind the scenes when Franco was in the car. I'm sure a lot of people in Argentina would be happy if Franco got behind the wheel this Sunday.
