Vettel: We are really negotiating.
Red Bull consultant Helmut Marko once called Sebastian Vettel "the ideal successor," and in an interview with ORF, the four–time world champion admitted that he was indeed negotiating.
Sebastian Vettel: "I still have a great relationship with Helmut, we are really in talks, although the discussion is not as intense and not as deep. Helmut has said several times that he is going to leave, but he is still working and, I hope, will work for a long time.
Life is inexorable, and Helmut understands this. He is a tough realist and honest with himself. He'll understand when it's time to leave.
I think it's impossible to replace Marco. As a person, he has made a huge contribution to the team's success since 2005. Whoever succeeds him, it is important that this work continues. In my experience, I understand the specifics of his work well. We haven't worked so closely together in recent years, but I think I know what he does."
