Okon: Imola requires a well-honed piloting technique
The upcoming Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix will be Esteban Ocon's fourth Formula 1 race at Imola, but Oliver Berman has competed at this track only in the youth series, including winning there in 2021 in Italian F4. However, during last season, he worked there on tests driving a Haas car and hopes not to disappoint his fans.
Oliver Berman: "I love Italy and I am very glad that we are returning there. We are going to have a race on one of the classic tracks, and I hope that the upcoming weekend will be very interesting. Let's also hope that the weather will be good.
The Imola circuit has a rich history, it has had different pages, both good and bad, but I am looking forward to racing on this track in front of stands filled with fans."
Esteban Ocon: "It's great that we are returning to Europe, and the next series of three races in a row will begin in Imola. I have a lot of good memories of performing in Italy, primarily from the days when I was involved in go-karting.
We know that the Italian public is very passionate, and we always feel their energy. The Imola track is very fast and has an organic configuration, so it will be an interesting challenge for the teams and riders.
There are areas on the track that require well-honed piloting techniques, first of all, it is necessary to attack the curbs correctly and achieve effective acceleration at the exit of turns. But we have prepared well for the coming weekend by working on the simulator, and hopefully we can have a good qualifying session to fight for points on Sunday."
