Zach Brown: I'm not surprised by Red Bull's problems
Zach Brown joined the correspondence discussion about which team Max Verstappen will continue his career in 2026. The McLaren boss prefers that the reigning world champion not change the team and stay at Red Bull Racing, which is not as strong as its rivals due to the loss of leading specialists over the past year.
Zach Brown: "Based on the current situation, I would prefer Max to stay at Red Bull rather than move to Mercedes. There's a lot of talk about cars for next season, but no one knows which team will be ahead.
I can say that I have great confidence in Mercedes, because I know their track record as a supplier of power plants, and I see their current body language.
Recently, many people have suggested adjusting the power plant regulations, but if you consider yourself competitive, then you don't want to change anything. I see that everyone at Mercedes is happy with the regulations. The situation is exactly the same as for us with the upcoming regulatory changes in Barcelona. But that doesn't mean we're just sitting back.
I'm not surprised that Red Bull rolled back. There is no surprise in this, because recently Adrian Newey, Rob Marshall, Jonathan Wheatley and probably many other people have left them. Based on what I've read, Red Bull says they don't regret these losses. But in reality, this is not the case.
Rob Marshall now works for us as chief designer, and he's a very smart engineer. I see exactly what he gave our team. He's doing a fantastic job."
