Villeneuve: The next races will be significant for Lando

Oscar Piastri is 16 points ahead of Lando Norris in the individual competition. Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 world champion, considers the British McLaren driver to be the favorite in the fight for the title, but on condition that Lando can cope with psychological problems.

Jacques Villeneuve: "I continue to believe that Lando still has a slightly better chance of winning the title if he regains his mental fitness. The next two or three races will be very revealing for Lando - we'll see what kind of mental shape he's in and whether he's coping with the problems.

Oscar Piastri is currently performing at the level of Norris and will definitely not step back. Maybe he'll add a little more, because he's getting stronger every time. More and more, the fight for the title is reduced to the struggle of two McLaren drivers. It's hard to see how this will affect Norris –whether it will make him pull himself together or break him down. If he breaks down, then Piastri will become the champion.

I don't think Oscar got into Lando's head, Lando did it himself. It was easier for him last year because no one expected him to win and fight for the title."
