Having devoted the first training session to working with new products, the second team worked with settings and tires. Having started the session with short series of laps on Medium, the riders gradually switched to Soft – for the first time in the season it was the C6 line-up, then returned to Medium for long series.
Sauber repaired Bortoleto's car, which was damaged at the end of the first session – he fully completed the training session.
The trajectory was covered with used rubber, the cars slid less, there were fewer mistakes, but traffic was in everyone's way. Alonso bumped into a slow Colapinto car – the stewards considered this incident racing.
Eight minutes before the end of the session, Isaac Hajjar's car froze in a gravel trap after turning, flying out and hitting the barrier. The Racing Bulls racer tried to return to the track, but the car wouldn't obey – he had to stop the session with red flags and evacuate it with a crane. The riders interrupted the series of laps, returning to the pits.
Two minutes before the end of the session, the riders were able to leave again, but there was only enough time to work out the starting procedure.
As in the morning, Oscar Piastri showed the best time, completing a lap in 1:15.293.

Excellent weather greeted Formula 1 in the spring Imola. It rained at night, but in the morning it was fresh and dry, and the grip on the asphalt was improving rapidly.
Alpine has undergone a change of staff and leadership. Sixteen years later, Flavio Briatore took the command bridge, and Jack Duane was replaced by his protege Franco Colapinto, who drove nine races for Williams last year.
The teams traditionally brought a lot of new products to the first European stage of the season, devoting the first training session to evaluating their effectiveness.
Pirelli brought the softest tires to the stage – C4, C5 and C6 in the role of Hard, Medium and Soft. The C6 compound was used for the first time in the season – many people installed these tires at the beginning of training.
At the entrance to the chicane, Alonso had to slow down due to Leclair's slow Ferrari, the stewards took the incident into consideration, but considered it racing. Colapinto prevented Tsunade, Hamilton cut off the chicane – without consequences. Verstappen lost time in the pits while the mechanics were working on the front suspension. Albon jumped onto the gravel at the second turn, then at the 16th and turned into the pits.
Two minutes before the end, the session was stopped with red flags. Gabriel Bortoleto crashed his car after flying off the track at turn 18. The damage is minor, the rider is fine. The session ended with red flags.
Oscar Piastri led the protocol, completing a lap in 1:16.545. The top ten fit into five tenths.
