Hajjar explained why he dedicated the design of the helmet to Senna.
In Monaco, Isaac Hajjar will be wearing a helmet decorated with the colors of the Brazilian flag, and today the Racing Bulls racer explained what this is about.
Isaac Hajjar: "I thought it could be done in Brazil, and that would make sense, but in my opinion, it makes even more sense to present such a helmet here, because there is only one king of the Monaco Grand Prix, Ayrton Senna. As a child, I watched numerous videos of his performances on YouTube and saw how he dealt with everyone on this track.
So I thought: "If I become a Formula 1 driver and compete in Monaco, I will want to pay tribute to his memory." On my new helmet, you can see the statistics of Senna's performances – the number of poles, wins, information about what year it was. I think it's a good idea."
Yesterday, Isaac Hajjar, along with other racers, took part in a charity football match as part of the Nazionale Piloti team and, recalling this event, told: "My legs are really tired! I've never played real football in my life when there are 11 people in teams, and even on a real-sized field. So now I have that experience too.
It wasn't easy – it was much harder than I expected. I realized that my muscles are not adapted for football, when you need to constantly change the direction of movement. It's good that I didn't get injured, everything is fine in this regard, but my strength was running out."
Hajjar, like most drivers, watched the new F1 movie yesterday and this is his opinion: "Watching a feature film about Formula 1 was quite strange. But I think this will give our sport a new dimension – the championship will become even more popular, and that's great.
But it's not so easy to share your impressions, because racers are always really critical. But I think it's a great way for the young guys or the public who don't know much about our sport to get their first glimpse of Formula 1."
