Sainz: Mistakes cost us a lot of points.

James Vowles has personally admitted more than once that during races, Williams strategists sometimes make the wrong decisions when choosing tactics, including the results of Carlos Sainz.

Carlos spoke to the media in Monaco today and was asked if he had raised this issue when he and the team analyzed the Grand Prix results.

"No,– Sainz replied. – To be honest, I always try to push the team, although sometimes they want to play the lottery with one of our two cars.… I believe that despite such temptations, the attitude should be this: for both cars, you need to make the right tactical decisions. This is exactly what we are currently working on so that such cases do not happen again.

What happened in Imola and Miami was due to serious mistakes, but we must try to improve the exchange of information within the team, as all this has recently cost us a lot of points.

However, we are making these mistakes now, when our car does not allow us to fight for victories, and it would be better if they happen this year. More importantly, the car has the speed, and it already allows you to fight for at least sixth or seventh place.

I hope we will perform well again this weekend, because we were confident in qualifying in the previous two stages, so we may have an opportunity to distinguish ourselves in Monaco. However, first we need to check how the FW47 will work on this track, which has so many features and is completely different from the others."

Today, many drivers are being asked about yesterday's screening of the new F1 film, which was attended only by participants of the World Championship, and Carlos shared his opinion:

"I think those fans who are not very well versed in Formula 1 will be delighted. Although those of them who know well what F1 is, who are really interested in it, as well as journalists, the film will seem too American and too Hollywood.

But I believe that such a movie is more intended for the part of the public that is not so deeply immersed in the topic of motorsport. I think the film will work great in this regard and attract the attention of many new fans, as Netflix did at the time.

Personally, I liked it, although we drivers are experts in the field of Formula 1, so we look at such work in much the same way as we once perceived Drive to Survive. But I honestly admit that I enjoyed it – there were moments that really surprised me.

The cinematography team did a great job, and I think it's a pretty solid Hollywood movie. We were immediately warned by its creators: "Guys, we love your sport, but this is Hollywood." I thought, "Well, okay."

However, let's see what people say..."
