A charity football match was held in Monaco

Yesterday, a traditional football match took place at the Louis II Stadium in Monaco between Nazionale Piloti, a team of racing drivers, and Barbagiuans & Stars, a team founded personally by Prince Albert II, played by football veterans, representatives of other sports, and even show business stars.

The reigning monarch personally took part in a symbolic ball draw with Charles Leclair and Mika Hakkinen, after which a charity match began, all funds from which are transferred to the Jules Bianchi Association. The Jules Bianchi Association supports the Archet Clinic in Nice, which specializes in the treatment of traumatic brain injuries.

In addition to Leclair, Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, Kimi Antonelli, Oliver Berman, Carlos Sainz, Isaac Hajjar, rally driver Thierry Neuville and other racers also entered the field, and, for example, Daniil Kvyat, who now competes in endurance racing, played for Barbagiuans & Stars.

Nazionale Piloti lost to their rivals with a score of 4:6. However, it is unlikely that anyone was very upset about the loss, because the most important thing is that all the participants enjoyed themselves and warmed up properly before the main events of the race weekend in Monaco.

This match continued the tradition of similar friendly games preceding the Monaco Grand Prix, which began more than 30 years ago.
