Pierre Gasly: Charles and I have discussed everything

Pierre Gasly: Charles and I have discussed everything

On Thursday, many Formula 1 drivers shared their opinions about the F1 movie, which they were the very first to watch at yesterday's special screening in Monaco. Pierre Gasly was also asked about this.

Pierre Gasly: "I think the film turned out great. In my opinion, this is a great opportunity for Formula 1 to open the door to our world, although, of course, this is purely a Hollywood movie. Personally, I'm a big fan of Brad Pitt – in my opinion, thanks to him, all of us Formula 1 drivers look very good!

The filmmakers did a great job, but I don't want to give away too many secrets, because I'm not sure what to tell you, but I'm sure the audience will enjoy this picture."

Also at the FIA press conference, Pierre was asked if he had the opportunity to discuss with Charles Leclair what happened between them in the Piratella corner on Lap 3 of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.

"Yes, yes, we talked with him right after the race, and here after we watched the videos and analyzed everything," the French Alpine F1 racer replied. "There are no ambiguities left. Even a lap before that episode, we had an interesting duel in turn 7, and there was a slight contact between our cars, and then in turn 8 we were driving side by side, fighting for position, but trying to leave each other a place on the track.

All in all, I thought I could get through that corner, but the grip there was worse than I thought. So we discussed everything, although, of course, on the track we try to fight each other as hard as possible.

If we talk about the upcoming Monaco weekend, it is difficult to predict anything and make assumptions about what the results might be. This is one of those tracks where a lot depends on the rider. In addition, the difference in the efficiency of the cars here is less pronounced than on traditional tracks, so there may be a chance to show a good result.

We are quite optimistic, because I know that we will be able to compete for points here, especially since this is one of my favorite tracks, and I always perform well here. I always try to look at things positively, including the fact that the new rule of two mandatory pit stops may also open up some new opportunities. We should welcome such an innovation, not be afraid of it.

All this does not change the main thing: the value of qualifications remains very high. If you manage to show a good result in qualifying, that's already half the battle. And two pit stops mean extra space for tactical maneuver, and we have to be ready to take advantage of that."
