Charles Leclair: I'm very disappointed.
Charles Leclair qualified second on his home track in Monaco, losing to pole holder Lando Norris by one tenth of a second. In the comments after the session, Leclair did not hide his disappointment at not being able to show the best time.
Lewis Hamilton had the best qualifying of the season (except for the pole position in the sprint) and clocked the fourth time.
Charles Leclair (2nd): "We can always do more, but in the end, we did everything we could.
I think I got a good lap. It's a pity that the first fast lap wasn't very good, because otherwise it would have given me more confidence. But I got into traffic on the second sector. Obviously, I'm very disappointed.
I know we don't have a car capable of competing for wins this year, but the SF-25 is fast this weekend. However, when starting from second place on this track, it is difficult to count on the first.
I like city tracks, I like to give my best and take risks in qualifying. Most often, this approach is justified, but sometimes it is not.
I'm proud of the team's results today, because it's going to be a difficult weekend for us. In the end, it's not that bad."
Lewis Hamilton (4th): "It's not the best day, but overall, the weekend is going well enough. It's just amazing to drive a Ferrari on this track.
The car handles well, and the accident in the third practice session definitely didn't help. There were several cars in front of me at the time, and I lost some downforce and control over the rear of the car. The team has done an excellent job of rebuilding.
Qualifying is fun on this track, but it's very difficult to keep track of everyone. I think I did a good job of not interfering with others. However, then the team said Max was on a fast lap, so I took a left turn, and then they said, "No, he's not on a fast lap."
After these words, I started to accelerate at full speed again. My acceleration lasted 10 meters and I was out of the trajectory. But there is no doubt that I distracted Max with these actions."
