Williams promises to review the rule of two pit stops
James Voules, on the one hand, is happy for his team, which scored points with two cars for the fourth time in a row: Alex Albon finished 9th in Monaco, Carlos Sainz - 10th. On the other hand, the head of Williams Racing admits that the races should still be held differently.…
James Voules: "We are leaving Monaco having earned valuable points. We are really proud of Alex, Carlos and the whole team, because they have shown an example of confident teamwork.
However, this is not the approach you want to take in racing. We want to attack with full force from start to finish, because we had a fast car, but we couldn't use its high-speed capabilities. But in any case, we had to take into account the tactics followed by the opponents ahead of us, and in order to earn points, we had to play by the same rules.
The fight in the championship will only escalate, so the value of the points earned in Monaco will be confirmed. And in the future, while working on the regulations, we will analyze the experience of last weekend and decide exactly how to adjust or revise the rules so that they contribute to a more spectacular race.
In the end, what happened on the track on Sunday was determined by Saturday's qualifying. And our team will have to continue working with the tires in order to better understand the behavior of the C6 tires, which we still have difficulties with."
