Briatore prefers not to see Michael Schumacher.

"We last met at a boxing event in Germany."

Flavio Briatore has expressed that he has no desire to visit his old friend and colleague, Michael Schumacher. Together, as the team principal of Benetton and its driver, they achieved their first world championships in 1994 and 1995, prior to Schumacher's transition to Ferrari, where he secured five additional titles. However, after Schumacher suffered significant brain damage from a skiing accident in late 2013, Briatore chose not to visit the renowned German driver and has not regretted that choice since. "We last met at a boxing event in Germany, a few months before his tragic skiing accident," Briatore, who returned to the F1 paddock this year as a powerful executive advisor at Alpine, shared with RTL. The 75-year-old maintains that he will not approach Michael’s wife, Corinna, to request permission to join the very limited circle of individuals allowed to see the seven-time world champion in his current condition. "I prefer to remember Michael as he was - full of energy and vitality," Briatore remarked. "He wouldn’t want me to remember him in his current state." The Italian still holds great affection for Schumacher. "Michael and his family played a significant role in the success, including my own achievements," Briatore noted. "I want to cherish those moments - they were incredible. Corinna is an amazing woman. She’s incredibly brave. She has done a fantastic job of keeping the family united."
