Ron Dennis watches Formula 1 broadcasts without sound

Former McLaren team principal Ron Dennis said that he continues to follow the events in Formula 1 with interest, but watches the race broadcasts with the sound turned off so as not to listen to the commentators.

Ron Dennis, who had led McLaren since the early 1980s, finally parted ways with the team in 2017, selling all his shares. Since then, he has not appeared in the Formula 1 paddock and has no plans to return.

Ron Dennis: "I always turn off the sound when I watch Formula 1 broadcasts. I know sports too well to listen to the nonsense that some commentators are talking. I only follow the events in the race. I love sports and I still enjoy watching Grand Prix broadcasts.

But I will never return to Formula 1. As you know, I have children and grandchildren, and they constantly harass me to go to the stage. I'll arrange a trip for them, but I won't go myself.

The thing is, I've seen people return to Formula 1 after they left. The problem is that their opinion was outdated by this point, even if they were multiple world champions. Everyone is polite to them, they serve coffee, but they can't offer anything. They're like spare parts, and I don't want to end up in that position. I have better things to do.

I love my garden. And although I don't spend much time working in the garden, I'm very passionate about it, as well as many other things in my life."
