Gunther Steiner: Verstappen has set a precedent

Former Haas team principal Gunther Steiner believes it was a mistake for the stewards to fine Max Verstappen by ten seconds for deliberately colliding with George Russell in the last laps of the race in Barcelona. According to Steiner, Max should have been disqualified for such actions.

"Racers are not allowed to crash into rivals on purpose,– Steiner shared his opinion on The Red Flags podcast. – Max could have been disqualified, but they didn't show him a black flag. I'm sure there's a clause in the regulations that says if a rider intentionally crashes into someone, they should be disqualified.

Why wasn't Max disqualified? He set a precedent, and now if someone bumps into someone on purpose next time, they'll get a 10-second penalty.

If I were the stewards, I would disqualify him. Nothing else will change it."
