Montreal doesn't expect a repeat of last year's problems.

The organizers of the Canadian Grand Prix consider the upcoming stage to be particularly important and want to prove that last year's problems have been solved.

The problems were related to the organization, logistics and poor work of the builders – the head of Formula 1 Stefano Domenicali even had to apologize to the teams and partners. All this prevented negotiations on the contract extension. The Canadian circuit has a very long period of time as it is – until 2031, but the sponsors and promoter Octane want to sign a new agreement lasting until 2035 in order to be able to plan for the long term.

The Formula 1 management expects that the stage on the island of Notre Dame will go smoothly. At the beginning of the week, representatives of the stage's promoter, Octane, met with the press, reporting on the progress of preparations.

To avoid flooding due to heavy rains, the motorhomes for receiving teams are now located on two floors. Waterproofing the paddock cost $1 million, in addition to a $1.3 million bill for similar work in 2022.

Since 97% of the approximately 350,000 spectators will use public transport, transportation logistics have been seriously improved and access to the stands has been facilitated. The repair of adjacent roads has been stopped. Otherwise, security is organized, measures have been taken to prevent spectators from entering the track until the permission of the race director.

Jean-Philippe Paradis, Executive Director of Octane: "Last year, everyone understood that something needed to be changed. We have understood the call of Formula 1 and have made significant progress. Can I guarantee that the weekend will be perfect? I can't guarantee, because it's only held once a year, but I'm very confident that last year's problems won't happen again."
