The first MadRing race will be held in September 2026.

Tonight, Carlos Sainz will get behind the wheel of a Williams FW45 to conduct demonstration races on an improvised track laid through the streets of Madrid's Barajas district adjacent to the IFEMA complex, around which the Formula 1 circuit is being built.

We told you that such a racing show is being prepared in the Spanish capital. The local press calls it the "moment of truth," even though the first race is still more than a year away. According to the Marca newspaper, the promoters of the Madrid race want it to complete the European part of the season in 2026, i.e. it will be held in autumn on one of the weekends of September.

And today, the organizers intend to test for the first time how high the level of expectations of the Madrid public is, how many fans will gather for the evening event, and at the same time, transport accessibility will be pre-tested, since fans are offered to get to the place of the future route only by metro and commuter trains. The journey from the center of Madrid should take about 20 minutes.

Since the event is free, it can be expected that there will be a lot of people: the music and entertainment part of the program starts at 17.00, a Carlos Sainz press conference is scheduled for 18.00, and the engine of the Williams 2023 car will be started 55 minutes later. The interest of the press in the event is great, and the DAZN TV channel will broadcast it.

The construction of a track with a length of more than five kilometers is already underway, the ring will consist of 20 turns, the most interesting of which should be the profiled La Peraltada, which already calls a kind of a calling card of MadRing.
