Flavio Briatore: We want to turn the situation around

Alpine is aiming for points in Canada to move away from last place in the Constructors' Championship.…

Flavio Briatore, team principal: "We are going to Montreal for the points. Yes, in Barcelona the team earned only four points and lost its position in the championship, but this motivates us even more to turn the situation around in the coming races.

Pierre and Franco are seriously working with the engineers to achieve more together with the team. I fully support them, our task is to provide them with the best car and tools to fight. Although Franco is still adapting, I am pleased with how actively both drivers and the team are looking for a way out of this situation, but I am upset by the instability of the car – we must resolve this problem quickly."

Pierre Gasly: "As a team, we were pleased with the way we ended our three-race winning streak in Barcelona, but there is a lot to do to achieve more in the rest of the season.

Last week we returned to the base, worked on the simulator and analyzed past races to prepare for the Canadian stage.

The highway in Montreal has a complicated configuration. Long straights with fast chicanes and high curbs require good handling from the car, and precision and confidence from the rider. We need to gradually increase our speed in training in order to maximize the performance of the car by the beginning of qualifying. On this track you have to take risks to show a good time, but this risk leads to success.

The weather in Montreal can be extreme, as we have seen in previous years, and we also need to pay attention to this. The results are very solid, we will work hard to make the weekend as good as possible and earn more points."

Franco Colapinto: "The series of three races in a row for our team consisted of ups and downs. We didn't achieve the desired results, but we saw the potential and speed of the car when everything was going right. Pierre and I spent some time with the team at Enstone to analyze recent races and work on the simulator before the upcoming stage.

I'm looking forward to the Canadian Grand Prix and I'm ready to get back on track. I've never raced in Montreal before and I want to get used to it as quickly as possible to prepare well for qualifying. As in previous years, the weather is likely to play an important role over the weekend, so we need to be on our guard."
