McLaren rejects Donald Trump's request to test their F1 car.
"Trump won’t be driving our car"
McLaren has dismissed unfounded claims that US President Donald Trump will test a Formula 1 car next week.
This assertion originated in Canada from Julien Febreau, a well-regarded correspondent for Canal Plus, who indicated that the test would occur in an older McLaren vehicle at the US Grand Prix circuit in Austin.
Currently, Trump is surrounded by widespread "No Kings" protests throughout the United States. He controversially visited the McLaren pits during the 2024 Miami GP and is thought to have a connection with fellow American Zak Brown.
Following the Miami visit, McLaren emphasized that it is a "non-political organization." Regarding the speculation that Trump could fit his 6 foot 3, 101 kg frame into a McLaren cockpit, a McLaren spokesperson stated in Montreal: "Trump won’t be driving our car. It’s absolutely not true."
At 79, Trump is set to attend the G7 summit in Alberta, Canada, on Monday and Tuesday. No additional public events have been scheduled for the 47th president for the remainder of next week.
